Josh Murner, ASA, EA, FCA, MAAA
Joshua Murner is a Consultant in GRS’ Chicago, Illinois office. Josh has 7 years of actuarial and benefit consulting experience.
Josh works with employee retirement systems and benefit plan sponsors. His actuarial work covers pension funding actuarial valuations, GASB Statement Nos. 67 and 68 valuations, actuarial audits, individual employer cost allocations, experience studies, open and closed group cash flow projections, plan design cost impact analyses, defined benefit plan to defined contribution analyses, option factor calculations, benefit calculations and benefit statements. Josh has worked with pension clients in Illinois, North Dakota, and West Virginia.
Josh’s work with retiree healthcare systems includes GASB Statement Nos. 74 and 75 valuations, funding valuations for pre-funded OPEBs, and the calculation of per capita claims costs. He has worked with retiree healthcare systems in North Dakota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and California.
In addition to pension and retiree healthcare systems, Josh has performed work with other benefit programs including §529 pre-paid tuition program soundness valuations and Length of Service Award Programs (LOSAP) valuations which includes GASB Statement No. 73 reporting. He has worked with §529 pre-paid tuition programs in Illinois and Maryland and LOSAP programs in Maryland.
