EBRI Releases 2024 Workplace Wellness Survey Report

On October 24, 2024, the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) released its summary report, 2024 Workplace Wellness Survey. The survey examines employees’ attitudes toward employment-based benefits in the workplace. It also covers an extensive range of issues such as employment-based health insurance, financial well-being and retirement benefits. 

The key survey findings include: 

  • ​Currently, 83% of employers offer health insurance and 79% offer retirement savings plans;
  • Of those employees with retirement savings plans, 62% consider those plans to help contribute to their financial security;
  • Over 75% of employees consider their current level of debt to be problematic;
  • 56% of employees are extremely or very satisfied with their current job;
  • 39% consider financial wellness programs to remain very important;
  • About 34% of employees feel they understand their retirement benefits offered by their employers very well;
  • Overall, employees most value work life balance (56%), flexibility in work schedules (48%) and quality health care coverage (37%) as very important benefits;
  • About 69% of employees are interested in employer-provided mental health benefits; and
  • Paid vacation time (81%) and paid sick time (76%) are the most commonly offered leave types.
